چکیده

We consider a ferromagnetic Ising spin system isomorphic to a lattice gas with attractive interactions. Using the Fortuin, Kasteleyn and Ginibre (FKG) inequalities we derive bounds on the decay of correlations between two widely separated sets of particles in terms of the decay of the pair correlation. This leads to bounds on the derivatives of various orders of the free energy with respect to the magnetic field h, and reciprocal temperature β. In particular, if the pair correlation has an upper bound (uniform in the size of the system) which decays exponentially with distance in some neighborhood of (/?', h') then the thermodynamic free energy density ψ(β, h) and all the correlation functions are infinitely differentiable at (/?', h'). We then show that when only pair interactions are present it is sufficient to obtain such a bound only at h = 0 (and only in the infinite volume limit) for systems with suitable boundary conditions. This is the case in the two dimensional square lattice with nearest neighbor interactions for 0^β<β0, where β^ 1 is the Onsager temperature at which ψ(β,h = 0) has a singularity. For β > β0, dψ(β, h)/dh is discontinuous at h = 0, i.e. β0 = βc, where β~ 1 is the temperature below which there is spontaneous magnetization.

Magnetic Properties in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Square Lattice

In this paper we investigate the effect of a random transverse field, distributed according to a trimodal distribution, on the phase diagram and magnetic properties of a two-dimensional lattice (square with z=4),  ferromagnetic Ising system consisting of magnetic atoms with spin-1. This study is done using the effectivefield theory (EFT) with correlations method. The equations are derived using...

Magnetic Properties and Phase Transitions in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Simple Cubic Lattice

Within the effective-field theory with correlations (EFT), a transverse random field spin-1 Ising model on the simple cubic (z=6) lattice is studied. The phase diagrams, the behavior of critical points, transverse magnetization,  internal energy, magnetic specific heat are obtained numerically and discussed for different values of p the concentration of the random transverse field.

Bounds on the mass gap of the ferromagnetic XXZ chain

We prove rigorous lower and upper bounds for the mass gap of the ferromagnetic spin 1/2 XXZ chain. The two bounds coincide asymptotically in the Ising limit ∆ → ∞. Near the isotropic point, ∆ = 1, the estimates are good enough to determine the critical behaviour of the mass gap unambiguously. The derivation does not rely on exact solutions.

On the Positivity of Correlations in Nonequilibrium Spin Systems

We consider Ising spin systems, equivalently lattice gases evolving under discreteor continuous-time Markov processes, i.e., "stochastic cellular automata" or "interacting particle systems." We show that for certain spin-flip probabilities or rates and suitable initial states the expectation values of products of spin variables taken at equal or different times are nonnegative; they satisfy the...
